Attendance and Participation

Attendance and participation are mandatory. Your presence is crucial to practice hands-on techniques and receive the information. Students are expected to be on-time, present for, and participate in the entire course. Certificates of completion will be given to students who attend and participate in the entire class and based on the instructor’s judgment that the student can perform massage safely implementing the methods and knowledge taught with satisfactory ability.

If you have need for special accommodation, please contact Rachel Skinner to discuss needs and possible arrangements before registering.

Behavior, Safety, Discrimination

We expect all students to come to class sober, clean, safe and respectful of classmates and the instructor. Please be considerate and sensitive to body odor and perfumes. We will ask any student found to be in class while under the influence of intoxicating substances to leave without a course refund. In addition, any student who the instructor finds to be sexually harassing or compromising the emotional and/or physical safety of another student or the instructor will be asked to leave the class without a refund.

We require all students to know basic massage communication skills, both students practicing the massage and students receiving the massage. When in doubt ask the person you’re working on about pressure, speed, etc. Safety is our priority and any student who does not work in a safe manner, or who in any way compromises the safety of themselves or anyone else in the class, will be asked to leave the class without a course refund.

Health Space LA does not and shall not discriminate, nor allow discrimination to take place, on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status.

Physical Health

Many of our courses are active and vigorous hands-on approach of learning which requires you to be in good physical health. Good physical health means you have no recent injuries, surgeries, accidents, or musculoskeletal disorders, including concussion or head injury, whiplash, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, or thoracic outlet syndrome. You are able to work on the floor on hands and knees with minor discomfort. It also means you don’t have a history of migraines, autoimmune dysfunction, or fibromyalgia.

If you are suffering from one of these or have any concerns or questions please contact Rachel Skinner with details about your ability to function due to the condition.

Payments, Cancellation, Rescheduling, Refunds

Health Space LA keeps classes small so that students can receive the best possible experience and instruction. Class fees must be paid in full at least 15 days in advance of the class start date. For multi-day classes, a minimum 50% deposit is required to register and reserve a space in class. For one-day classes, a full tuition payment is required to register and reserve a space in class. All tuition and deposits are non-refundable.

In the rare event that Health Space LA must cancel or reschedule a class enrolled students have the choice to be refunded their paid tuition, or to have their tuition applied toward a future class.

It is strongly recommended that students traveling to study with us purchase trip insurance as most flights can be refunded with proof of class cancellation, which can be provided by Health Space LA. Tuition for classes at Health Space LA does not include transportation accommodations getting to and from class nor housing.

We are pet lovers but no pets are allowed in class or in the building.

Parking and Transit

There's two hour metered parking on the street in front of 6115 Selma Ave. but classes can go over 2-hours. We recommend you find non-metered parking around the corner on Carlton Way or Gordon or find a parking garage on Selma and Argyle.

We are three blocks away from the metro!

You can also plan ahead and take the metro. Take the red line and get off on Hollywood/Vine. Turn right on to Hollywood Blvd and take the first right on to Argyle and left on Selma.
